- Account information: Name, email address, mobile number, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: Profile photo, course selection, year of study, and bio.
- Authentication data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
- Payment information: If you purchase a premium plan, payment details are processed securely by our payment provider (Razorpay). We do not store your card details.
- Communications: Messages you send to our support team via email or contact forms.

- Usage data: Quizzes attempted, scores, time spent, pages visited, features used.
- Device data: Browser type, operating system, device type, IP address, and language settings.
- Log data: Access times, pages viewed, errors encountered, and referring URLs.
- Cookies: Session tokens and preferences stored in cookies (see Section 5).
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Google Sign-In: Name, email address, profile picture, and Google User ID via Firebase Authentication.
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised usage data from Google Analytics.

- To personalise your learning experience — tracking your progress, scores, streak, coins, XP and leaderboard rank.
- To generate your personalised daily quiz based on your selected course and year.
- To send important service emails — account verification, password resets, and magic login links.
- To send notifications about new content, mock tests and exam tips (you can opt out).
- To process payments for premium subscriptions.
- To improve our platform — analysing usage patterns to fix bugs and develop new features.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

- Razorpay: Payment processing for premium subscriptions.

3.2 Public Information
Your name, profile photo, XP and rank may be visible to other users on the public leaderboard. You can update your display preferences in your profile settings.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GuideMyExam, our users, or the public.
3.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4 Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
- Firebase Authentication handles sign-in tokens securely.
- Payment processing is handled by Razorpay and is PCI-DSS compliant.
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

6 Children's Privacy
GuideMyExam is intended for users who are 16 years of age or older. Our platform is designed for pharmacy and nursing students who are typically enrolled in post-secondary education.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 16 has registered, please contact us at support@guidemyexam.com.
7 Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view your profile information in your account settings at any time.
- Update: You can update your name, photo, course, mobile and bio in your profile settings.
- Delete: You can delete your account from Profile → Account tab. This permanently removes your data.
- Data portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting support.
- Opt-out of notifications: You can turn off email notifications in your profile preferences.
- Withdraw consent: If you signed in with Google, you can revoke access from your Google account security settings.

8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- Post a notice on our platform or send an email to registered users.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of GuideMyExam after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
